Weekend Update: October 10-11, 2026

Next week at Maine Crime Writers there will be posts by Brenda Buchanan (Monday), Kaitlyn Dunnett/Kathy Lynn Emerson (Tuesday), Kate Flora (Thursday), and Maureen Milliken (Friday).

In the news department, here’s what’s happening with some of us who blog regularly at Maine Crime Writers:

Jule Selbo blazed the country roads to Langley-Adams Library in Groveland MA for her second packed house (so nice) of readers two weeks ago. She’ll go back to the area in a few more  weeks to do an event at Brooksby Estate. Thank you to all the organizers who love to bring authors to their towns and community.  That includes Rebecca Starr at Portland Public Library  (thanks for the Making a Mystery event I participated in with Dick Cass, Matt Cost , Ryan Lovell and Gabi Stiteler last week, and librarian Candis Joyce for the upcoming event in Bangor.  Jule is part of the speaker/panels at the online ESCAPE THE PLOT FOREST, coming up Oct 17-21. It’s for writers in all genres – people can attend for free or pay a bit extra for an all ACCESS PASS.

Kathy Lynn Emerson’s FATAL AS A FALLEN WOMAN, #2 in the Diana Spaulding 1888 Mysteries, has just been reissued in trade paperback ($15.99) and e-book ($5.99) formats. Both formats are available online from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other book stores and you can click here https://books2read.com/u/bQrL70 to find other e-book sellers. NO MORTAL REASON will follow next month with LETHAL LEGEND in December. #1, DEADLIER THAN THE PEN, is already available.

Allison Keeton, as Jule Selbo mentioned above, will be at the BANGOR PUBLIC LIBRARY on Thursday, October 15th at 6 PM for an audience participation Mystery Making Mayhem event. Joining Allison and Jule will be Matt Cost and Moe Claire.
