In the news department, here’s what’s happening with some of us who blog regularly at

Maureen Milliken this afternoon has a 4 p.m. Zoom presentation at the Louisville Book Festival, “The Power of Setting in Storytelling.” The free festival features a variety of authors and programs, and, even if you don’t check out my presentation, it’s worth checking out the festival, which aims to support literacy in underserved areas. On October 31st, the Concord Festival of Authors will present a Mystery Night zoom panel, Casting Call. Participating will be Kathy Lynn Emerson/Kaitlyn Dunnett, Charlene D’Avanzo, and Kate Flora, along with author Edwin Hill. Here is the zoom link to register:

Last summer, Kate Flora recorded a reading of her story, “Aftermath,” from the Superior Shores Anthology, Heartbreaks and Half-truths. There are a few moments where the connection failed, but you might still enjoy listening to the story of a lonely widow watching the Maine lobstermen across the road. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_laUMIv6AtU&feature=youtu.be
