Weekend Update: February 8-9, 2014

fallsbooks1Next week at Maine Crime Writers we’ll be featuring posts from Jim Hayman (Monday) Barb Ross (Tuesday), John Clark (Thursday), and Kate Flora (Friday). On Wednesday, we’ll have an interview with Vaughn Hardacker.

In the news department, here’s what’s happening with some of us who blog regularly at Maine Crime Writers:

Lea Wait:  Editing, editing .. is what this next week will be for me. Tangled Threads, the first in a new series I’m writing for Kensington, is due March 1. But I will be taking a break to visit two classrooms via Skype on Wednesday, and next Sunday, February 9, will be speaking as part of a Lincoln County Historical Association Winter Lecture series about “The Marie Antoinette House: Myths and Realities.” 1 p.m. at the 911 Center in back of the Lincoln County Courthouse in Wiscasset, Maine. Look forward to seeing some of my Maine friends there!

And …mark your calendars! Islandport Press, my wonderful new publisher, has set April 6, from 4-5:30, as the date and time when they will host a launch party for Uncertain Glory, my new book for ages 8-14. You’re all invited to Le Garage in Wiscasset, Maine … and, yes, refreshments will be served!

An invitation to readers of this blog: Do you have news relating to Maine, Crime, or Writing? We’d love to hear from you. Just comment below to share.

And a reminder: If your library, school, or organization is looking for a speaker, we are often available to talk about the writing process, research, where we get our ideas, and other mysteries of the business. Contact Kate Flora: kateflora@gmail.com
