Weekend Update: December 31, 2016-January 1, 2017

Next week at Maine Crime Writers, there will be posts by Kaitlyn Dunnett/Kathy Lynn Emerson (Monday) Bruce Coffin (Tuesday), Brenda Buchanan (Wednesday), Dick Cass (Thursday) and Lea Wait (Friday).

In the news department, here’s what’s happening with some of us who blog regularly at Maine Crime Writers:

from Kaitlyn Dunnett/Kathy Lynn Emerson: Apologies to subscribers who saw a post from me and then had it disappear, especially if you wanted to comment on it. I was trying to schedule that post for Monday and because (apparently) Word Press was still set for 2016, it published immediately instead. It was only live for a few minutes, but that was enough to send it out to all our subscribers. It will reappear on Monday, Jan. 2. Don’t you just love technology?!?

Bruce Robert Coffin: On Saturday, January 7th from 11 – 2 pm, Bruce will be reading from and signing copies of his debut novel, Among the Shadows, at the Diane Snow Art Gallery in Limerick, Maine. Light refreshments will be served.

An invitation to readers of this blog: Do you have news relating to Maine, Crime, or Writing? We’d love to hear from you. Just comment below to share.

And a reminder: If your library, school, or organization is looking for a speaker, we are often available to talk about the writing process, research, where we get our ideas, and other mysteries of the business. Contact Kate Flora

    Kaitlyn,
There was no “comment” link in your post yesterday so here is a suggestion to add words to your story. How about weaving in some home repair discussions with your general contractor, carpenter or whomever you have doing repairs to your childhood home. Maybe romantic tension develops. Or a storyline with your cat needing a vet visit and rekindling a friendship with an old friend who is now the town vet?

    • Hi, Ann,
Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to schedule that post for Monday and because (apparently) Word Press is still set for 2016, it published immediately instead. It was only live for a few minutes, but that was enough to send it out to all our subscribers. It will reappear on Monday, Jan. 2. Meanwhile, thank you for your suggestions, both of which are good ones.
      Kathy/Kaitlyn
