We are lucky to live and write in the great state of Maine

It’s September, Maine’s best month. And the living is fantastic.

We are so lucky to live here. And sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.

I took this from my campsite at sunrise in Baxter State Park a couple weeks ago.

Enjoy.

Gorgeous photo! A few years ago two newlyweds from Denmark came to visit my husband and me in Boston. They wanted to know all about the Battle of Gettysburg and to go visit the site. We found photos of Baxter State Park on the internet and said Gettysburg is an important battle field, but look at these photos. That would be a lot more fun. They had a great time!

Such beauty! I’ll be in your great state in 10 days, have been longing for time on the coast. thanks for posting.

Yeah. This is my favorite month up here, too. Gorgeous days (like today), the Common Grounds Fair tomorrow, Saturday a trip to Bar Harbor including a boat ride courtesy of UMA and — best of all perhaps — the tourists have retreated, except maybe for leaf peepers who will have no luck this weekend. I glory in Fall here. It’s “live as it should be.”
