4 Responses to Tips on Research: A Note on Dates

  1. On reading this, I realize I could have done better by way of introduction. This is one of a series of tips I’ve put together and left ready to post as needed. Here at Maine Crime Writers we hate to let a day go by without something new. So, enjoy, and feel free to ask historical research questions. They just might spark another blog.

  2. Interesting, Kathy — makes the type of writing you do that much more difficult. Kudos!

  3. Sandra says:

I remember years ago learning that this whole dating thing was involved in George Washington’s birthday: he wasn’t born on February 22, but on the 12. When the calendar change was adopted in America he added 10 days so there would be 365 days between “birthdays.” So “President’s Day” could be on the 12th, since Lincoln and Washington were actually both born on that day.
